Reverse osmosis pushes water through a semipermeable membrane to leave dissolved salts, hardness and contaminants behind. CWG has designed and built RO plants from small units to 150,000 IGPD seawater systems — for process and boiler feed, drinking water, and wastewater recycling across Pakistan since 1998.

The Technology

What is reverse osmosis?

RO applies pressure to force water through a membrane whose pores are fine enough to reject dissolved salts and most contaminants. Purified water (permeate) passes through; a concentrated stream (reject) carries the salts away.

A properly engineered pre-treatment train — filtration, softening or antiscalant dosing — protects the membranes and keeps the plant running reliably at high recovery.

CWG builds brackish, high-brackish and seawater RO in single or multi-pass configurations, matched to your feedwater and purity target.

The Process

How an RO plant works

Feedwater is pre-treated, pressurised and passed through membranes to yield high-purity permeate and a concentrated reject.

Pre-Treatment

Filtration, softening or antiscalant dosing removes fouling risks and protects the membranes.

High-Pressure Pumping

A high-pressure pump drives feedwater against the membranes.

Membrane Separation

Water passes through the membrane as pure permeate; salts stay behind in the reject.

Delivery & Reject

Permeate is delivered to use or storage while the concentrate is discharged or further recovered.
